MiLB report

4 of 6 Mets minor league teams took the field today.

The Buffalo Bisons dropped their 1st game of a 4 game set with Syracuse Chiefs 1-0.
Players to note:
Mike Lamb went 2-4
Adam Pettyjohn pitched 7 scoreless giving up 5 hits and striking out 3
-The Bisons were without SS Wilson Valdez who was recalled to the Mets today in place of Alex Cora

The Binghamton Mets game was suspended after completing 2 innings. Binghamton was leading the New Britain Rock Cats 1-0.
Players to note:
Shawn Bowman had the only Met hit in 2 innings - a solo homerun
Jenrry Mejia pitched 2 scoreless giving up only 1 hit and struck out 2. This was Mejia's second outing since being activated from the DL.
This game will resume tomorrow at 6:05pm

The St. Lucie Mets defeated the Charlotte Stone Crabs in 10 innings 3-2.
Players to note:
Kirk Nieuwenhuis went 2-4 with 2 solo HRs and a walk
Brahiam Maldonado went 1-3 with a solo HR and a stolen base
Manuel Alvarez pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief striking out 4
Brant Rustich pitched 1 scoreless inning in relief and struck out 2

The Savannah Sand Gnats and Brooklyn Cyclones had the day off today. The Cyclones will begin a 3 game set with the State College Spikes tomorrow and the Sand Gnats with the Augusta Green Jackets.

The single A short season All-Star game was today. The AL defeated the NL 4-2. Cyclones players Dock Doyle, Sam Honeck, Mark Cohoon, James Fuller, and Michael Powers were selected to the NL All-Star team.

The Kingsport Mets put up 5 runs in their 5-2 victory over the Princeton Rays.
Players to note:
Jeff Flag went 1-4 with a HR and 2 RBIs
Joseph Bonfe, John Freeman, and Luis Nieves each went 3-1. Freeman had a solo HR


- The Mets signed second round pick Steven Matz for an 895K signing bonus. He will head to Florida this Friday to begin training.

-Only 13 days until September Callups.
