The Mets have come to terms with free agent infielder Alex Cora. The deal is reportedly for one year and two million dollars.

I like this signing, prior to this, Luis "bad knees" Castillo was the only second baseman on the Mets' 40 man roster. Cora is a 33 year old scrappy utility infielder who never puts up big numbers, but plays good defense, and is a suitable backup.
