What happened to the After Thoughts? This is the question that so few people have been asking over the past week, I felt the need to respond as soon as I possibly could. Truth be told, I went out of town for days and missed many a Mets game. It's hard to write about a game that you didn't watch.

I cannot lie. I've also been preoccupied with the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The best playoffs in all of professional sports has had me captivated far more than wondering how far the next bomb off of Aaron Heilman will fly (anybody who had 450 feet in their pool is a winner). It also doesn't hurt that my Pens are within one game of a first round sweeeeeeep. LETS GO PENS.

Here's a quick aside: How many of you became physically ill when Heilman trotted out to the mound last night? Don't lie. After the lead off double, I switched over to hockey and only caught the third out. Funny thing, though. I could hear the boos all the way in Hoboken.

Back to the matter at hand. I did catch most of the game last night and for the most part I can't complain. I'm sure you're wondering the same thing I am at this point.

Who is this Mike Pelfrey kid? Seven innings, no runs and five strikeouts? Mike Pelfrey is now 2-0? With an ERA thus far of 1.50? Anybody who says they knew this was coming is a liar. That's right. A liar.

Can we just put the big "C" on David Wright, already? D-Dub had yet another decent game, going 3-4 with a homer and a mere five RBI. Oh yeah. The kid had two doubles, too. He's alright, if you're into that sort of thing.

The real point of this short piece, though, is to give a shoutout to one of our very own; or I guess I should say hugs and kisses. That's right, friends. Everybody's new favorite addition to the Global New York Mets Fan Blog, XOXOXOs/Ass of the Day, was mentioned in the undisputed and undefeated king of Mets Blogs...Metsblog.
