The Mets Apologize to the Fans via E-mail

Dear Mets Fan:

All of us at the Mets are bitterly disappointed in failing to achieve our collective goal of building upon last year's success. We did not meet our organization's expectations -- or yours. Everyone at Shea feels the same range of emotions as you --our loyal fans -- and we know we have let you down. We wanted to thank you for your record-breaking support of our team this year.

Equally important, Ownership will continue its commitment in providing the resources necessary to field a championship team. Omar will be meeting with Ownership shortly to present his plan on addressing our shortcomings so that we can achieve our goal of winning championships in 2008 and beyond.

You deserve better results.

Many thanks again for your record-breaking support.

Mets

Apologizing via Email? REAL CLASSY GUYS. Now go out and actually back up your words and make changes.

I guess its better than ignoring the fans... but you would think someone would come forward and just be honest, you know, we'd like to apologize to the fans for not giving it our all down the stretch, and hopefully we'll learn from our mistakes, and it won't happen again in the future.

It's better than nothing, but I think they just had some lowly intern type this up in 5 minutes and send it out. (probably someone who is actually in the facebook group)

Where do I start? The team played with no heart and let the true Met fan down. Not the fan doing the wae when we are losing Friday noght 7 to 4 those fans are the worst. The fan as myself that has been to 55 games this year and not even a season ticket holder. You guys need to stop with the JOSE JOSE JOSE JOSE thing its over with already. That was so 2006. Also Sweet Caroline in the 8th inning that has to stop. I would rather the 1986 Mets team song be played. Also that stupid everybody clap your hands has to stop as well. We are here for a game not a carnival. Tshirt launches when we are losing as well no need. I have been a Met fan for 25 years I am 29 years old. I know I can bring ideas to a team if given the opportunity so here is one... I don't care if we have to trade Gomez, Milledge Heilman and or Pelfrey to get Santana here just get it done. Also Mark Loretta to play second would be a solid move for a yr. Tom G never should pitch in a MET uniform again. It hurt sitting there this whole week thinking it would be party time and it wasn't. I was at Game 3 at Dodger stadium when we cinched and at games 1,6, and 7 last year. This team wasn't as exciting as full of life as last year. Willie desreves another chance and if anything the dancing after home runs has to stop and Petersen has to go. Bullpen and pitching was worse this year. Please don't let the trum Met fan down this off season get it done.
